This time last year I was trying to decide whether to keep sending Autodesk a subscription fee. I ended up renewing at the last minute. I am now kicking myself. Every release of 3ds max in the last 3 or 4 years has become less and less useable and I spend more and more time getting the new releases to work . I have about 80 un billable hours into getting r 2016 to just do basic stuff that i have been doing for the last 15 years or so. Same bugs from 12 years ago plus some new ones that make it un useable. Autocad isn't much better. Plan now is to get either r2015 or r2016 to just work and use it for a few years until I migrate to c4d or sketchup or probably start rendering in a game engine like Unity. I have had it. What are they thinking moving to a subscription model? Paying to have 10-15 Gb of garbage software vomited into your C-drive and putting you out of business until you either un install everything and reinstall the earlier version(hope you paid for the dvd) or wait for the service packs. Every year I go through this.
